Seinen Anime and Manga thread

What is Seinen? It's a genre where the show is geared towards the more mature audiences. It's not necessarily because it has nudity or sexual references (but there are time that it has that), but because of the topic it touches upon.
Anyway, the main point of this topic is for us to share or recommend anime from the seinen genre. I'll start with a few here:
1. Akagi (26 episodes)
Plot point: Riichi Mahjong (Japanese rules mahjong)
Summary: Nanjo has found himself in the pits of debt hell and is playing possibly the last mahjong game in his life. He's about to lose when the game was interrupted by a knock on the gambling room's door. Standing behind was Akagi, a high schooler who is about to find his way to the world of Mahjong and make a legend.
Why you should watch it: Despite the initial impression that you will not appreciate it if you do not know how to play, it's definitely not the case. The story does walk you through some basic rules when something is happening, however the point of the story is not the actual mahjong games. You'll be following how Akagi goes on a battle of wits with his opponent, and how he breaks them down bit by bit.
2. Kaiji (24 episodes)
Plot point: Gambling
Summary: Kaiji is a bum and wasting his days on petty gambles to feed himself and survive. It's not until a loan shark reached him and demanded payment for debt he co-signed with some time ago. In an instant, he was buried under millions of yen in debt and must find a way to get out of it or be subjected to years of unpaid work for an underground organization.
Why you should watch it: This story is also from the same creator of Akagi. This is ultimately the story of an underdog who's gambling skills are realized when he is hanging by a thread on situations. If you like psychological thrillers, this is it. The show is one of the author's most popular works, and is currently running a 2nd season.
3. Puella Magi Madoka Magica (12 episodes)
Plot point: Deconstruction of Mahou Shoujo
Summary: Kaname Madoka is a normal high school girl that encounters a creature that offers her the ability of being a magical girl. Being one, isn't simple as it seems.
Why you should watch it: It's hard to talk about this series without giving spoilers. It is however advertised as the deconstruction of mahou shoujo. If you hate magical girls with a passion, I'd still recommend you watch this anime because it's not the main point of the series. My recommendation for anyone is, watch the series until episode 3 and then decide if it's for you or not.
Those are my recommendations for now. There are a lot outside there if you look specifically for "seinen". There's also no doubt you'd come across titles that are geared more towards "ecchi" but nevertheless are good.
